Our single-site campus sits in the heart of the city centre- with a rich mix of culture, history and modern convenience all right on your doorstep, you’ll have everything you need to make Coventry somewhere you can belong.

Nightlife

Coventry has a great range of nightlife choices. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing evening with your friends or want to dance the night away. A lot of places even offer student discounts/prices.

Kasbah

This is THE student club in the heart of Coventry. With three floors worth of music to choose from and a variety of great drinks, Kasbah hosts a number of regular club nights and live artists.

Dhillon’s Brewery

If you’re more into your real ales and laid-back attitude, look no further than this fantastic microbrewery. Located just around the corner from the CBS Arena, it boasts a range of options. As well as their microbrewery, they also own The Spire Bar and Sky Blue Tavern in the heart of the city centre.

HMV Empire

Whether you’re looking to see some live music, or potentially something a little different, the hmv Empire has various events to choose from. Having hosted some of the UK’s best acts, and the likes of Bongo’s Bingo, you’re bound to have good night.

Teezers

A retro-themed 18-hole mini golf course that serves food and incredible cocktails. Teezers offers a fantastic night out experience for you and your friends. Whether you’re just starting your night here, or this is your entire evening, Teezers is bound to be an amazing time.

 

History and Culture

Coventry is filled with historic landmarks and cultural diversity. Home to the two-tone music genre, today the city’s theatre, arts and music scene continue to thrive, thanks to independent artists and global icons.

Historical landmarks

Coventry may have been hit hard during the Second World War, but a lot of its iconic landmarks have endured. Check out the remains of Coventry Cathedral, one of the city’s most recognisable monuments. You could also visit historic Spon Street, the statue of Lady Godiva and St Mary’s Guildhall.

Godiva Festival

Speaking of Lady Godiva, a yearly festival and one of the biggest and best events of the year can be found in the fantastic War Memorial Park. Jam-packed full of live music, entertainment and craft stalls it’s the perfect place to discover local talent or see chart topping acts.

The Belgrade Theatre

Whether you’re interested in local performances, want a bit of comedy in your life, or excited by touring West End shows, the Belgrade Theatre offers a range of exciting experiences. Students can also get discounted tickets to many of their shows.

The Herbert Art Gallery

This award-winning art gallery and museum that celebrates Coventry’s rich history and culture is right next to The Hub. There are always different exhibitions running, in the past they have included LEGO builds, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, The Story of Children’s Television and the Turner Prize.

 

Shopping and Restaurants

Coventry has a range of fantastic shops and restaurants in the heart of the city and a little further afield. Whether you’re looking for a quaint independent coffee shop, or nationally recognised shops and restaurants, Coventry has you covered.

City centre

You can find major high-street shops at West Orchards and the Lower Precinct Shopping Centre. You can also choose from a range of familiar restaurants, including Wagamama, Five Guys and Zizzi in Cathedral Lanes Shopping Centre.

Fargo Village

Fargo Village is home to independent shopping and tasty street food. In this one-stop creative village, some of the tenants you might come across include a bubble tea house, Escape Live, a vintage clothing shop, a record shop, an American diner, a Caribbean restaurant, a second-hand bookshop and a micro-brewery!

Coventry Market

The perfect place to get your hands on locally sourced fresh food and other great bargains. Open from Monday to Saturday, Coventry Market boasts a wide variety of independent traders and is considered one of the most successful markets in the country.

 

Sports

Sport is one of the UK’s greatest pastimes, whether you want to get involved yourself or check out some professional teams, Coventry has some fantastic options to choose from.

CBS Arena

The CBS Arena is home to Coventry City FC and has been used as a host stadium for international games, as well as the likes of the Rugby League World Cup and the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The arena has also hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Harry Styles and The Arctic Monkeys.

SkyDome Arena

One of the city’s most popular sports is ice hockey, with the SkyDome arena being the home of the Coventry Blaze, who play in the Elite Ice Hockey League. It is also home to Planet Ice, so you can go ice-skating as well.

Butts Park Arena

Home to Coventry Rugby Football Club, check out one of the most exciting, up-and-coming teams in England play one of the most physical sports the UK has to offer, not far from the town it was invented..

 

Surrounding areas and beyond

Sometimes it’s nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and discover what the surrounding area of Coventry has to offer. Coventry is in the heart of England, not far from Birmingham and only a short train journey to London.

Kenilworth

In the heart of Warwickshire, you’ll find Kenilworth which is famous for its castle. Kenilworth Castle was once a medieval fortress and Elizabethan palace. Here, you can explore the impressive ruined towers and gardens.

Royal Leamington Spa

In the centre of Royal Leamington Spa, you will find the Royal Pump Room and Baths where natural springs were found in the eighteenth century. The spa town is now also known for its great shopping facilities and nightlife.

Warwick

A visit to Warwick wouldn't be complete without seeing Warwick Castle with its lavishly decorated state rooms, its towers and the dungeons. This market town also boasts many traditional tea rooms and antique shops.

Stratford-upon-Avon

We’re also close to the birthplace of William Shakespeare: Stratford-upon-Avon. The internationally renowned Royal Shakespeare Company runs performances throughout the year, and you can also visit preserved Tudor homes.
