Event details

October 2025 is the 75th anniversary of the publication of Alan Turing’s influential article ‘Computing Machinery and Intelligence’ published in MIND journal in October 1950. Introducing his ‘imitation game’, Turing’s ideas helped to launch the science of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Sprite+ and Coventry University invite you to attend a special 75th anniversary one-day event in Coventry University*.

Keynote from Phil D. Hall, Founder Elzware Ltd. Pioneering Trustworthy AI for Over Two Decades

Phil D. Hall stands at the vanguard of conversational AI development, bringing a rare combination of engineering rigour, ethical clarity, social scientific perspective and practical implementation expertise to the field. Building chatbots since 1982, Phil brings historical perspective to contemporary debates: he understands that the fundamental challenges of human-computer interactions; context maintenance, intent or goal recognition, and personalised response appropriateness remain constant. On the Turing 75th anniversary, he is wondering if we are closer or farther away from the AI path than we were 25 or even 50 years ago.
