Epstein: Stories in Stone (19 March to 31 May), celebrates the work of Jacob Epstein, whose epic bronze sculpture St. Michael’s Victory over the Devil was commissioned by the new Cathedral’s architect Sir Basil Spence and is one of the many masterpieces of modern art created for the building.
The exhibition brings together masterpieces from national collections, Jacob and the Angelfrom Tate Britain with those permanent on display in the two Cathedrals together in this spectacular setting for the first time.
