This module is designed for students to be able to examine the philosophical basis of research and evaluate the different research methods used in social work, health and social science.
The module will provide students with the opportunity to develop their ability in preparing a detailed research proposal within the field of their own profession/speciality. Ethical and legal aspects of research studies will also be considered in the module.

- Evaluate the ethical, political, legal and social issues associated with the development of a research proposal.
- Construct a research question or hypothesis and evaluate its relevance to own field of academic study or profession.
- Appropriately select and evaluate methodology, design and methods to address a specific research question or a hypothesis.
How will this course be taught
This module will use a blended learning approach for the delivery of the module’s content, including CUOnline sessions and interactive, interprofessional workshops.
Autumn Term: Tuesdays 1pm - 4pm.
Induction will take place on the first day of each module (excluding Mentoring).
