FAQs for UK applicants and offer holders

If you're studying for A-levels, you will receive your results on Thursday 13th August 2020.

Like any year, Coventry University will use the grades provided to us by the awarding bodies to confirm the conditional of you offer.

What’s new this year is that rather than sitting exams, your School or College has been asked by the Government to use their professional experience to make fair decisions on your grades they believe you would have achieved if you sat your exams. You will be ranked in order of students within each grade and then exam boards will look at all of these assessment grades.

For example, if you are awarded a B grade this year, we promise to treat it the same way as a B grade awarded in previous years.

If you do not think your grades awarded reflect your ability you will have the opportunity to take exams in the autumn or in summer 2021 and use the higher of the two grades. This will delay your entry into university and you will need to let us know so that we can advise you, some courses do have January entry points.

Yes. Like every year there will be a number of students that for a variety of reasons will be making an application to university over the summer. For those students Coventry will have a wide variety of course available. What many student don’t realise is that clearing is open from 1 July, so you may not have to wait until August to secure your place.

As advice and guidance from the Government continues to be updated, Coventry University encourage all offer holders who are considering deferring to wait until closer to September, where details regarding teaching & learning and campus life will be clearer.

We will be considering deferral requests from UK offer holders once all offers have been confirmed following the receipt of calculated A-Level grades on Thursday 13th August.

If you wish to inform us of your intention to delay your studies, you can do so by completing a deferral request form and one of our team will contact you to discuss your options.

All BTEC results will be released on 13 August which is the same day as A levels results.

Grades are being awarded based on teacher assessments and will be communicated to students in the normal way, so at the moment any offers that include GCSEs or Functional Skills will stay the same.

Please note when booking Accommodation it may request a 7 digit number in which case please use the first 7 digits of your Student ID.
