Introduction

Your step-by-step guide to navigating Results Day with confidence.

Whether things go as planned or take an unexpected turn, Coventry University is here to support you every step of the way. Here's what to expect and what to do when you get your results.

Top Tips for Results Day

  1. Know when and how you’ll get your results - Check with your school or college.
  2. Login to UCAS Hub from 8am onwards on 14th August to see your university application status.
  3. Check your emails (including junk/spam folders) - Universities may contact you with updates.
  4. Research your options - If things didn’t go to plan or you've changed your mind, you can still secure a place through Clearing.
  5. Use our Clearing tools - Try our Eligibility Checker and view the courses we have available.

When and how will I get my results?

Your school, college or sixth form will let you know how your results will be released. Some send them by email or post, others ask you to collect them in person. If you're unsure, check with them directly.

How do I know if I got into university?

Once you have your results, login to your UCAS Hub after 8am to see your university application status. You’ll see one of the following:

  • Your place is confirmed – congratulations!
  • Your place is still conditional – this means a decision is still pending.
  • You’ve been unsuccessful at your Firm or Insurance choices – don’t worry, you can still find options in Clearing.

What if I didn’t get the grades I was hoping for?

You could still secure a university place through Clearing. Our Clearing team is here to help you review your options and find the right course. Have your UCAS ID and grades handy. If you were already holding an offer at Coventry, we will automatically have assessed you any alternatives available in Clearing.

Why is my offer still showing as conditional for Coventry university?

Don’t panic, there are a few common reasons this might happen, and we’ll be in touch if we need anything from you:

  • We haven’t received all your results - Some qualifications (like GCSEs) aren’t automatically sent to us via UCAS. If you have been asked to send anything in, please make sure you have done so, and include your application number in the email.
  • Your grades are slightly below your offer conditions - We may still be reviewing your application. Keep an eye on your inbox, including your junk/spam folder—for an email from us explaining what we need. We will work to get a decision for you as soon as possible
  • UCAS hasn’t passed on your results yet - If you have your results and meet the conditions of your offer, please email them to ukadmissions@coventry.ac.uk.
  • You didn’t sit an exam or complete a qualification listed on your application
Let our Admissions team know in writing by emailing ukadmissions@coventry.ac.uk.

If your offer hasn’t been confirmed yet, you should be able to see the reason on your UCAS Hub account. If you have any further questions, please call our Confirmation Line on 024 76 790 790 for support.

What if I’m offered an integrated foundation year or a different course?

If you don’t meet the conditions of your original offer, we might offer you a place on a course with an integrated foundation year or a similar course that better matches your grades.

You’ll see any alternative offers in your UCAS Hub. If you’re happy with the new course, simply accept the offer. Make sure to read the details carefully, changes will include the course title, start date, or entry level.

What happens if I’m unsuccessful at both my Firm and Insurance choices?

If this happens, you’ll automatically be entered into Clearing. This will be made clear on your UCAS Hub.

Coventry University has courses available through Clearing and our team is ready to help secure a place.
