How businesses are actively investing in AI, as well as the opportunities and challenges that the evolving technology will bring in the future - were key topics of discussion at a breakfast roundtable.

Several guests from high-profile businesses based in the midlands were invited to share their insights and expertise on AI, which was facilitated by Coventry University and hosted by Kurt Jacobs, editor of Midlands Business Insider magazine.

The guests came together at the university’s flagship Delia Derbyshire building and included a mixture of CEOs and Managing Directors from a diverse range of companies, including those from health tech and marketing to logistics and professional services sectors.

Spearheading from Coventry University was Dr Fei He, Associate Professor within the Research Centre for Computational Science and Mathematical Modelling, and co-lead of the centre’s Digital Health research theme.

During the discussion, business leaders examined how AI is impacting healthcare, such as enabling faster diagnosis.

We had a fascinating conversation about the profound influence AI is already having across various sectors, with a particular focus on healthcare. We discussed its role in facilitating early and fast diagnosis of various diseases, enabling personalised medicine, and vast opportunities for research and innovation.

Businesses in attendance included FARx Group, Macildowie Recruitment and Retention, Thompson Group, WAA Chosen, West Midlands Health Technologies Cluster, Version1, and Hollywood Gaming.

The roundtable served as a platform for thought-provoking conversation on the present and future connections of AI and businesses strategies, showcasing a collaborative effort to navigate the evolving landscape of technological innovation.
