Joined to the Sir Frank Whittle Building, the Beatrice Shilling Building can be found behind the Lanchester Library and offers industry-standard facilities for our engineering, environment and science students.

Spanning four storeys, numerous laboratories and multi-purpose spaces empower you to take a highly practical approach to your course; laser and high energy beam welding, electronics and electrical power, model-making, rapid prototyping, metallography, games technology and more, all exist to bring your theoretical learning to life.

You’ll find well-equipped classrooms and seminar rooms alongside open study spaces that foster collaborative and informal work
