We’re offering you a chance to secure reduced entry grades for your chosen Coventry University course when you attend one of our Applicant Experience Days.
Is my course eligible?
You will have the opportunity to upgrade your offer on most of our undergraduate courses as long as you have received a conditional offer from us based on qualifications you’re still studying for e.g. A level, BTEC or equivalent.
However, some courses are not eligible due to regulations from external bodies or other specific entry requirements, as outlined below.
Health and Care - Interviewing courses (not eligible for offer upgrades)
The courses below require you to attend an interview before we can consider making you a conditional offer. You will receive an invite to an interview if your initial application is successful. Interviews give us the opportunity to get to know you, including your motivation, passion and potential for the course. They also help us confirm that you are suitable for the profession and that your values and readiness meet regulatory expectations.

After we have considered your application, you may be invited to take part in a portfolio review or audition before making you an offer. This still gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your passion and potential and for us to apply flexibility to your offer based on this.

That’s why we’re giving you the chance to showcase your passion and potential by attending one of our Applicant Experience Days and taking part in an activity. We'll recognise your effort by giving you extra flexibility on your conditional offer. Here’s how it works:

*Additional terms and conditions may apply as stated in your offer letter. These may include, but are not limited to, our Admissions Policy, English Language requirements and Student Terms and Conditions.
The upgrade provides you with more flexibility on your offer. It's our way of recognising your potential and giving you a little extra support.
For example, a conditional offer of BBB/120 UCAS Tariff points could be upgraded to BCC/104 UCAS Tariff points.
What will the subject activity involve?
During the subject activity, you might take part in a hands-on piece of work, explore an idea related to your course, or work with other offer-holders on a task. The subject activity is not a test; it’s designed to be helpful and collaborative, not intimidating. The course team is committed to making this subject activity as inclusive as possible for everyone. We understand that people learn and engage in different ways, so we want to ensure you can do your best.

What are you looking for during the subject activity?
We’ll be looking for your engagement, enthusiasm and interest in the subject - it’s not about knowing the right answers. The upgrade recognises the effort and commitment you show during the subject activity. Complete the subject activity, and if you meet the criteria, you'll see the upgraded offer on your UCAS Hub within 10 days.
Do I have to take part?
No. It’s entirely optional. If you don’t participate, your original offer still stands. However, we highly recommend attending an Applicant Experience Day. These events offer the perfect opportunity for you to meet your tutors and support teams and get answers to all your questions so you can feel confident and excited about your next step.
What if I can’t attend?
We understand that visiting in person isn't always possible. Please complete this form if you are unable to attend, but are still interested in upgrading your offer.
What if I applied for more than one course at Coventry University?
You can only attend one course session and subject activity at an Applicant Experience Day. We recommend you choose your preferred course, as this is the one we can upgrade your offer for.
If your courses are in a similar subject area, we may upgrade multiple offers.
If your courses are in different subject areas, you’ll need to attend separate Applicant Experience Days and complete the subject activity for each course to secure upgrades.

What if I applied for a degree with a foundation year?
If you applied for a degree with a foundation year, you’ll join the subject activity for your chosen degree. For example, Business Management BA (Hons) with foundation year applicants will take part in the Business Management subject activity.
What if my offer has already been reduced?
We encourage you to attend an Applicant Experience Day even if you already have a reduction in offer from one of our schemes. If you complete the subject activity, we may be able to upgrade your offer further.
What if I have already completed my qualifications?
You must still be studying for your Level 3 (e.g. A level, BTEC, T Levels, Access to HE or equivalent) qualifications to be eligible for an upgraded offer. If your offer only asks you to provide documents or proof of grades you’ve already achieved, there’s no academic condition for us to upgrade. If you’re not currently studying these types of qualifications, an offer upgrade won’t be available.
Are International fee-paying students eligible?
Unfortunately not. Only Home fee-paying, UK-based applicants are eligible.
How will you know if I attended the Applicant Experience Day and took part in the subject activity?
Once you book your place, you can download and save a digital event ticket with a QR code. We will scan this QR code when you check in on the day. Attendance and engagement in the subject activity will be logged by the member of staff running the subject activity.
Am I still eligible if I want to defer my place?
Yes.
What if I’m applying for advanced entry onto a course, such as starting in year 2 or 3?
To be eligible, you must have applied for Year 0 (e.g. Foundation Year) or Year 1 (e.g. first year of a degree) of a full-time undergraduate course and hold a conditional offer that includes Level 3 requirements (A levels, BTEC, T-Levels etc.).
We cannot accept applications for advanced entry into Year 2 or 3, nor for top-up courses.
How long will the opportunity to upgrade my offer be available?
Current opportunities to upgrade your offer are available on the Applicant Experience Days webpage. We reserve the right to amend these dates or withdraw this offer without notice. In the event of this, all upgraded offers prior to the amendments/withdrawal will be honoured.
Do I need to book my Upgrade Your Offer subject activity separately?
No. You only need to book onto the Applicant Experience Day. During booking, you will be asked to select your Course Session that is linked to your course offer. On the day, you’ll be able to take part in the subject activity that is linked to upgrading your offer.
