Students at Coventry University’s Department of Computing are set to stage a technology and multimedia spectacle next week as part of the seventh annual ‘New Wizards’ event.

New Wizards is a showcase of students’ cutting-edge multimedia inventions, and will feature undergraduates from courses such as games technology, ethical hacking and computer science demonstrating their abilities in fields such as 3D modelling, games design and animation.

The yearly event affords students the chance to showcase their talents and also provides them with an opportunity to network with potential employers and to explore placement and internship prospects.

Peter Every, associate head of computing in the University's Faculty of Engineering and Computing, said:

The New Wizards event provides a fantastic opportunity for our students to get their work in the spotlight and to promote themselves and their talents to industry insiders.

As with previous shows, we have a number of top companies attending, which illustrates the high esteem in which our computing students are held. Whilst there will be a number of exciting exhibits, we know from experience that it is the approachability and enthusiasm of our students that impresses our visitors most.

This year’s showcase will be taking place in the Engineering and Computing building, Gulson Road, Coventry, on Wednesday 26th March. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/TheNewWizards.
