Industrial strategy statement from Coventry University

Commenting on the launch of the industrial strategy today (23 January 2017) Professor John Latham, Vice Chancellor of Coventry University and Chair of University Alliance, a group of universities focused on preparing students for a career in industry and the professions said:
“Universities will be key to the success of this industrial strategy, and we can provide a place to make it happen – with the right support.
“Although grand industrial plans have been launched before, I am more optimistic this time round because of two factors – Regional devolution and a higher education sector that is much more attuned to employment outcomes. We are better than ever at working with industry.
“Ultimately, innovation is local. We’re ready to deliver this strategy by creating the physical places for industry, business and academia to come together.”
