Your Students’ Union has taken over the running and operations of Sport Coventry on Coventry University’s city centre campus.

The gym and sports facilities at the Alison Gingell building, as well as the 30-plus sports clubs that represent the university, will now fall under the banner of Your Sport.

New signs will soon go up at the sports centre - which includes two sports halls, studio, fully fitted gym, strength and conditioning suite and physiotherapy clinic – and at Westwood Sports Ground, an 11-pitch multi-purpose sports ground which hosts a range of Coventry University’s sports clubs and external sporting events.

Both locations will remain open to students, staff and members of the public.

Your Sport will also support the direct operations of the university’s sports clubs, helping them to compete at British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions, while a new Social Sport programme will be launched to offer recreational sport for students regardless of their experience.

Friendly leagues and competitions between schools and colleges within the university will be held each semester, as well as one-off events and activities on campus.

We’re looking to build greater awareness around sport — not just for the student sporting community but for the non‑sporting community as well. Being part of the Students’ Union allows for a greater student voice in the activities they take part in and greater representation — not just within sports clubs but across all sporting activity, whether that’s social sport, recreational sport or using the gym.
