Coventry University students have been given the amazing opportunity of creating artwork for Coventry City FC’s upcoming season.

Students from the university will create artwork to promote each of the Sky Blues’ league and cup fixtures for the duration of the 2025/26 campaign.

Their work will be seen by members of the Sky Blue Army across the world as it is showcased on the club’s social media channels.

Students will be invited to the Coventry Building Society Arena to learn about the history of the club so they can create content that shows what makes the city and club so special.

Employees from the club’s design and content team will also be giving talks to students about their experience working with the club and in football, giving an insight into their roles and supporting students’ learning as they embark on their own careers.

Coventry University - like the football club - has deep roots in the city stretching back to the 1800s. Coventry University’s School of Arts and Creative Industries now boasts more than 30 creative courses including Graphic Design, Illustration, Fashion, Fine Art, Photography and Digital Media, and students from across these courses and others will be invited to get involved later in the year.

The first pieces will be produced by MA Graphic design students this month, and we can’t wait to bring others into this exciting project.

Lisa Webb, Course Director for Coventry University’s MA Graphic Design course

Coventry has always been a city of creativity and innovation, and we’re proud to play a part in nurturing the next generation of talent coming out of our region.

The collaboration is about more than just design; it’s about giving the students a real platform to express what our club and our city means to them.

We can’t wait to see their work bring our matchdays to life.

Nicola Ibbetson, Coventry City FC’s Chief Business Officer

Fans should keep an eye out on Coventry City FC’s social media accounts for the first creative student work ahead of the club’s Championship season opener against Hull on Saturday, 9 August (12:30pm KO).
