Coventry University London’s incredible effort to support international students into the workplace has been recognised with a prestigious industry award.

The Outstanding Student Support (Careers and Employability) Award was presented to Coventry University London’s Careers and Experience Service team at the #WeAreInternational Awards this month.

In addition to a comprehensive three-month package of employment support offered by Coventry University London which includes CV, cover letter writing and interview preparation, its ability to secure job placements is also key to its success.

Coventry University London offers work-experience opportunities to all postgraduate students across a wide range of sectors, from creative industries and tech to consulting, social impact, health, and professional services.

Organised by the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA), the awards celebrate the dedication and achievements of international students and all those who support them across the UK.

The Coventry University London team were among 13 to pick up awards on the night, from more than 420 nominations across 120 institutions.

As a former international student myself, I know how life-changing the right support at the right time can be -and that belief is what drives our work every day.

Winning the Outstanding Student Support Award (Careers & Employability) is a recognition of the model we’ve built at Coventry University London: structured employability programmes, real-time careers support, strong employer partnerships, and opportunities for our international postgraduate students.

Danny Mirza, Careers and Experience Manager at Coventry University London

This award reflects the hard work, expertise, and unwavering commitment of our team to ensure international students thrive during their time with us. We are proud to create an environment where students feel supported and empowered to succeed.

Lucy Wilson-Whitford, Associate Director Careers and Experience

Winners were selected from 63 finalists by a panel of expert judges for their outstanding contributions, from inspiring international students and alumni to exceptional institutional initiatives.

The #WeAreInternational Award winners showcase the people and partnerships that make the UK a leader in international education.

At a time when policy changes continue to challenge the sector, it’s heartening to see so many creative and empathetic approaches to deliver the best possible experience for international students in the UK.
