About

Richard teaches across a range of modules on the Sports and Exercise Therapy BSc. He is currently the module leader for the level 5 Trauma Management Module and the level 6 multidisciplinary practice module. Richard is also the placement co-ordinator for the final year placements and manages the level 5 pitch side work experience.

Career overview

Richard is a full member of The Society of Sports Therapists and maintains clinical practice within Rugby Union. He has also worked in football, with various individuals at amateur and elite level. He spent several years working with Priory Healthcare at one of their consultant led functional restoration centres in the midlands, as well as in private practice.

Research

Richard’s research is centred around the sport of Rugby Union. He has completed a PhD examining the effects of playing on neck health and has published several articles in injury causation and player welfare in Rugby Union.
