Introduction

Results Day can bring a mix of excitement, uncertainty and important decisions. This guide explains what to expect when you receive your results, how to check your application status and what steps to take next.

Top tips for Results Day

  1. Know when and how you’ll get your results by checking with your school or college.
  2. Login to UCAS Hub from 8am onwards on 13 August 2026 to see your university application status.
  3. Check your emails, including your junk and spam folders, as universities may contact you with updates.

Research your options so you can still secure a place through Clearing if things did not go to plan or you have changed your mind.

When and how will I get my results?

Your school or college will let you know how your results will be released. They may be available through your online student portal, by email, by post, or to collect in person. If you're unsure, please check with your school or college directly.

How do I know if I got into university?

Your UCAS Hub will show the outcome of your university application as soon as your results are released. Checking your status will help you understand your next steps and take action quickly if needed.

Log in to your UCAS Hub from 8am on 13 August 2026 to view the latest status of your application.

Common outcomes include:

  • Your Firm choice is confirmed: congratulations! You've been accepted by your first-choice university and course.
  • Your Insurance choice is confirmed: if you didn't meet the conditions of your Firm choice but met the requirements for your Insurance choice, you'll be accepted there instead.
  • You’ve been offered an alternative course: if you didn’t meet the conditions of your original offer, the university may offer you a place on a different course, such as a related degree or a degree with a foundation year. Check the details carefully before making your decision.
  • Your application is conditional or still being considered: your status may remain conditional while the university reviews your results and makes a final decision.
  • You’ve been unsuccessful at your Firm or Insurance choices: don’t worry, you can still find options in Clearing.

What if I didn’t get the grades I was hoping for?

If you didn't get the grades you expected, don't assume you've lost your university place. Universities may still confirm your place, even if you narrowly miss the entry requirements. If you already have a confirmed university place, do not decline it before speaking to the university. Once a confirmed place is declined, this may not be reversible.

Our Clearing team is here to help you review your options and find the right course. Have your UCAS ID and grades handy when you speak to us. If you already hold an offer from Coventry University, we will automatically consider whether a suitable alternative course is available if we cannot confirm your original choice.

Why is my offer still showing as conditional for Coventry University?

  • We're finalising information: if your UCAS status is still showing as pending, it means we're not yet able to make a final decision on your application. This could be because we're waiting for information to be verified or completing final admissions checks. We'll contact you if we need anything from you. You can also check your UCAS Hub account for more information on what is still outstanding.
  • We haven’t received all your results: some qualifications (like GCSEs) aren’t automatically sent to us via UCAS. If we asked you to submit your results, please email them to us as soon as possible. Make sure you include your application number in your email so we can update your status quickly.
  • Your grades are slightly below your offer conditions: we may still be reviewing your application. Keep an eye on your inbox, including your junk/spam folder, for an email from us explaining what we need. We will work to get a decision for you as soon as possible.
  • UCAS hasn’t passed on your results yet: if you have your results and meet the conditions of your offer, please email them to ukadmissions@coventry.ac.uk.
  • You didn’t sit an exam or complete a qualification listed on your application: let our Admissions team know in writing by emailing ukadmissions@coventry.ac.uk.

Check your UCAS Hub for the latest status and any further information about your application. Coventry University will contact you if we need additional information. If you have any further questions, please call our Confirmation Line on 024 7679 0790 for support.

What if I’m offered a degree with foundation year or a different course?

If you don’t meet the conditions of your original offer, we might offer you a place on a degree with foundation year or a similar course that better matches your grades.

You’ll see the details of any alternative offer in your UCAS Hub, along with instructions on how to respond. Read the information carefully before making your decision, as the course title, start date or entry level may have changed.

What happens if I’m unsuccessful at both my Firm and Insurance choices?

If you’re not holding a confirmed place after decisions have been made by both your Firm and Insurance choices, you will be eligible to use Clearing. This will be shown in your UCAS Hub.

Coventry University has courses available through Clearing and our team is here to help you secure a place.

Can I change my course at Coventry University after receiving my results?

Yes, you can request a course change if you hold an offer with Coventry University. Complete this form and the admissions team will be in touch.

Important: Please do not decline your place in UCAS if you want to change course. If you already have an offer from Coventry University, contact us using the course change form instead. Declining your place and reapplying through Clearing could affect your eligibility for scholarships, your accommodation and other offer-related benefits.
