Samson's journey from Coventry University to climate innovation
When Samson Banjo Adeoye arrived at Coventry University to study Diplomacy, Law and Global Change MA back in 2022, he had a clear interest in governance and international affairs. Still, he never imagined just how far that journey would take him. Today, Samson is the Founder & CEO of Alumoni360, a technology company that helps governments and organisations manage minerals more responsibly and sustainably across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
As well as leading his start-up, Samson works as an Associate at Chatham House (UK) and a Youth Parliamentary Board Member at the ECOWAS Presidency - both roles focus on sustainable development, climate action, and governance reform.
Choosing Coventry University
Samson chose Coventry University because he wanted a course that focused on diplomacy, international law, and global change, with practical elements included. The mixture of academic learning and relevance to the real world also helped his development.
"The course strengthened my policy analysis and negotiation skills and encouraged the systems-thinking I use daily in my work. It shaped my understanding of global governance and helped me recognise the regulatory gaps that later inspired Alumoni360."
Not only this, but the international classroom, filled with students from a wide range of countries and professional backgrounds, gave Samson exposure to different perspectives and how problem-solving works across cultures. From these experiences, he was well prepared for the international partnerships he leads today.
An impactful career
Since completing his master’s, Samson’s work has grown into a portfolio that covers policy, research, technology, and sustainability leadership. His recent collaborations include:
the United Nations (UN)
World Bank Group
ECOWAS
Chatham House
UK Visas & Immigration
the Tallberg–SNF–Eliasson Global Leadership Network.
Throughout these roles, he has worked on projects for climate-impact modelling, regulatory compliance, and innovation in emerging markets. He has also been recognised internationally through nominations such as:
7 Under 30 Changemakers Award: celebrating anyone under 30 years of age who has built positive changes in their community.
House of Commons Achievers Award: hosted at the UK Parliament, recognising emerging leaders who have contributed to democracy and stood up for important issues.
These recognitions show how his work is making a real difference in climate action, sustainable development, and youth leadership
Alumoni360
One of Samson’s proudest achievements is creating Alumoni360. The idea was shaped during his time at Coventry University, where he studied governance challenges in developing economies.
A thought that first came to him during his studies has now turned into a company which helps governments and businesses across many regions.
How Coventry University helped shape the vision
Looking back, Samson describes Coventry University as the place that strengthened both his confidence and his sense of purpose. The course helped him grow as a leader and deepen his understanding of how global issues and sustainability connect.
He particularly valued:
the chance to apply academic theory to current geopolitical challenges
supportive lecturers who grew his interest in governance reform
exposure to classmates from around the world
the freedom to develop ideas that later became part of his business mission
"My time at Coventry was transformative. It helped shape the global vision and leadership foundation that guides my work today."
Advice for current students
In terms of advice, Samson believes students should always “be curious and stay open to meeting new people”. He encourages everyone to explore different interests and make the most of the university’s international community, which can massively help take those next steps after graduation.
Looking ahead
As Samson continues his work at Alumoni360 and in global climate discussions, he often reflects on the support and international experiences he gained at Coventry University. His journey shows how further study can lead to new opportunities around the world. He hopes his story encourages others to think globally and make the most of what Coventry University has to offer.
