Coventry University Group is driving the UK’s AI transformation by embedding world-class research expertise into real-world challenges.
Our research centres combine technical excellence with deep sector knowledge, enabling collaborative, human-centred solutions that are ethical, inclusive and designed for lasting impact. From advanced manufacturing and energy systems to healthcare and creative industries, our researchers are applying AI across diverse domains to accelerate adoption, generate benefits and create a more responsible and innovative AI ecosystem nationally and internationally.
Human Centric AI: An Interdisciplinary Network
Our Human Centred AI Interdisciplinary Network unites over 100 researchers and 60 PhD students to address key challenges and opportunities in AI. Focused on real-world impact, it builds on applied, transdisciplinary research and takes a whole-system, whole-society approach to ensure AI is technically advanced, ethically sound and socially inclusive.
For West Midlands businesses and funders, the network provides direct access to research, talent and collaboration. Our work informs teaching and business services, helping partners adopt AI responsibly - whether improving workforce tools, customer experience automation, or decision-making.
Our vision
We are a diverse, agile and dynamic network of experts conducting and sharing research in human-centered AI to create meaningful cultural and societal impact and positive change.
We critique and disrupt thinking and develop inclusive, investigative methods to serve society and individuals.
We believe AI can be a powerful force for good, but only if developed responsibly and with care. That’s why we are committed to openness, collaboration across disciplines, ethical and sustainable practices, and creating opportunities that ensure its benefits reach communities locally and globally.
