Coventry University is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Deepak Farmah as Director of the Centre for Advanced Low Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS).
In his new role, Deepak aims to advance the development of next-generation technologies necessary for a clean and sustainable future. His vision is to elevate C-ALPS and its experienced team as a global leader in low-carbon technologies by bridging academic and industry collaborations across his established networks and supporting global organisations to develop the capabilities and agility needed to reimagine their value in our evolving world.
Deepak, who also serves as Head of Innovation at Coventry University and Commercial Director of both the Electric Revolution Skills Hub and the Institute of Coding, brings extensive experience in challenge-led innovation and scaling high-impact solutions.
His career includes successfully bridging industry and academic research, advancing innovation through skills and workforce development, and tackling the UK’s skills gaps through employer-led education via national collaborations. He aims to leverage this expertise to commercialise interdisciplinary research, expanding C-ALPS’s impact by building industry collaborations, capturing new value streams and advancing technological change.

Deepak’s appointment marks an exciting development for C-ALPS, a £50 million research centre within Coventry University's E-Mobility and Clean Growth research. C-ALPS brings together academic experts and industry leaders to drive innovation across industrial ecosystem with its state-of-the-art laboratories, which focus on advancing battery systems, hydrogen fuel cells, PEMD and research in low carbon technologies.
Additionally, C-ALPS's collaboration with FEV, a global engineering consultancy based at their facility, accelerates innovation by combining cutting-edge research with industry expertise, thereby driving advancements in propulsion technologies.
We are thrilled to welcome Deepak Farmah as the new Director of C-ALPS. His experience and leadership in innovation make him a perfect fit for this role. We are confident that his appointment will propel C-ALPS to new heights and continue to contribute to industry.
