A student from Coventry University has taken top spot in a competition in which young artists were challenged to design a business card.

Molly Hyland, a foundation art and design student, achieved first place in the "Design a Business Card" competition hosted by professional business card providers 123Print.

Molly won the contest, which attracted entrants from across the country, with her design for a vehicle graphics company called Signs and Graphics UK Ltd. Her imaginative business card was coated with thermochromic paint, which changes colour upon touch and it was this innovative approach to user interaction as a means of attracting business, coupled with her excellent drawing skills, which secured her top spot in the competition. As reward for finishing first, Molly received a brand new computer tablet.

Fellow design student Eloise Holland finished runner up for her design for a fictional company called "Cafe Coffee". Competition judges were impressed with the illustrative quality that Eloise used whilst still keeping her business card simple and easily readable.

Eloise received a professionally printed batch of business cards with her design from the competition host which she can show to prospective employers as part of her design portfolio.
