Coventry University student Jack Lord will be presenting his self-produced debut album next month as part of Spectrum 2012 – the annual festival that celebrates the huge diversity of imagination and talent of final year performing arts undergraduates.

Acoustic singer-songwriter Jack will be performing tracks from his album before a live audience in the Ellen Terry building, Jordan Well, alongside Catalin Razlet-Condu. Limited edition hand-made copies of the album will be available on the night, and the event will be filmed and released online. There will also be support from another local acoustic act.

This final project marks the transition from study to real-world work for Jack – who is originally from Manchester – and the fact that the album is self-produced and self-financed shows how recording in the 21st century is easier than ever to get involved in.

Jack, who studies Music Composition and Professional Practice at Coventry University, said:

I'm really excited to be debuting my first solo album as part of the Degree Show 2012. I feel like I've learned a lot during my time at Coventry University and this launch is a great opportunity to put what I've learned into practice. I really hope the audience enjoys the performance and the album.

The concert will be taking place in the Ellen Terry Theatre, Jordan Well, Coventry, from 18th May 2012 (£5/£3 for concessions).

The Performing Arts Festival, Spectrum 2012, forms part of the University’s annual Degree Show, which exhibits the original work of the UK’s next generation of creative talent studying at the School of Art and Design.
