Coventry University is hosting the 2010 National Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Managers Conference this month.

The theme of the conference, which will be held at the Coventry Techno Centre on 9 – 10 December, is "Accelerating the growth of KTP across the UK".

The keynote speaker is Iain Gray, Chief Executive, Technology Strategy Board. There will also be contributions from experts in the field and the National KTP Forum.

This year’s conference is also going to be an interactive experience, offering participants the opportunity to get involved through workshops and debates as well as informal networking.

Paul Fairburn, Director of Business Development at Coventry University said:

“We have organised various workshop sessions over the course of the two days which will draw out the key issues of sales, business development, recruitment and retention. Various topics will be covered including: how to market KTPs and the skills needed to do this successfully, how to attract and retain graduates and streamlining recruitment systems and processes.”

Additional workshops will discuss the relationship between KTP and ERDF funding, and look at the opportunities presented by Shorter KTPs - drawing on the expertise of both Advantage West Midlands and the KTP Programme Office.

The two-day conference will conclude with a panel debate about the future of KTP.

All of the daytime conference sessions will be held at the award-winning Coventry TechnoCentre conference venue on Coventry University Technology Park situated in the centre of Coventry.

The conference is aimed at members of the national KTP community and costs £295 + VAT for the two days, which includes a conference dinner on the first night.
