Performing Arts students Hogwash Theatre will be bringing their new show, ‘The Vegetable Plot’, to the city as part of Performing Arts Degree Show – Spectrum 2012 – during May.

Spectrum 2012 is Coventry University’s annual festival that celebrates the huge diversity of imagination and talent of its final year students. Forming part of the undergraduates’ Degree Show 2012, which exhibits the original work of the UK’s next generation of creative talent.

Fresh from their first tour, and with an innovative attitude to the theatre world, Hogwash create a world of strawberry jam and silly songs in the ‘Vegetable Plot’ - all conveniently wrapped up with a stretchy string of bunting. Using puppetry, storytelling and live music, Hogwash Theatre aim to provide a jolly experience for all the family. Their portable patchwork tent has been designed and made by themselves, as well as the five puppets along for the journey.

Hogwash Theatre has also been lucky enough to receive a sponsor and an invitation to perform at Stratford-upon-Avon Fringe Festival in early June.

Alice Pegrum from Hogwash Theatre said:

We created the ‘Vegetable Plot’ as a way to comment on topical issues in a fun and imaginative way. During our time on the Theatre and Professional Practice course, we have learnt a lot about the performing arts industry, and aim to offer the audience an entertaining and energetic show.
