The Faculty of Engineering and Computing’s new commercial team made its first public appearance at the Advanced Engineering Show at the NEC last week.

The growing commercial team, led by Professor Mike Blundell and Mike Dickison, includes a dedicated group of account managers and support officers, as well as business development and marketing support focused on the faculty’s business services – employability, research, consultancy, and professional learning and development.

The new 'synergised' approach to business services is already paying off, with good feedback from clients and a healthy impact on the faculty’s applied research target.

The team received considerable interest at the Advanced Engineering Show  from representatives of Ricardo, BMW Group, GE Oil and Gas, UTS Aerospace and Millbrook Proving Ground. Delegates paid particular attention to the faculty’s metrology services, its bespoke professional learning offering and student projects.

The team’s next public event is due to be in the spring term, when it will host an open day specifically for businesses in the new Engineering & Computing building.
