An Illustration and Animation student has used his personal experience of life in the Philippines to create colourful and imaginative images for his end of year project.

Mark Padua, 21, developed the series of illustrations for his Degree Show project as snapshots of moments in the Philippines that come together to tell a story of its people.

In Life in the Philippines, Mark wanted to express his cultural background and by using digital software he was able to produce these highly distinctive illustrations.

Mark said:

I used bold colours in my work to reflect the vibrant culture of the Philippines. I also chose to use digital techniques in order to reflect how many designers are now using design software or technology within their work to create new types of illustrations.

Mark’s illustrations will be shown at the Illustration Nation Degree Show, Graham Sutherland building, Gosford Street, Coventry from 2nd – 10th June 2012.
