Five of Coventry University’s creative graduates will show off their designs and compete for a prestigious top place after being shortlisted in the Midlands Fashion Awards 2016.

Jaqueline Richards, Rosie Billington, Sophie Gordon, Louisa De La Rosa and Chloe Hollingsworth were chosen to showcase their work in three categories of the industry awards this month.

Chloe, who graduated from Coventry fashion school in 2013, will feature in the Independent designer category of the annual industry awards with her label Bottle Blonde Clothing.

Chloe has already made waves in the industry after working with singers including Paloma Faith and being chosen to create jackets for a Britain's Got Talent semi-final.

Collections by Jaqueline and Rosie, who graduated in 2015, will feature in the emerging designers category, with this summer’s graduates, Sophie and Louisa listed in this year’s young designer finalists.

The design awards will be held on Friday October 7 when winners will be announced.

Angela Armstrong, senior lecturer in fashion at Coventry University, said:

“We are delighted to have another five of our fashion stars selected for this exhibition which is very much about showcasing fashion in the Midlands.

“Coventry’s graduate designers have done well in this awards event for the past few years so hope to continue success with some wonderful designs by these designers.

“This is a prestigious ceremony and they have all done so well to be shortlisted. We wish them all the luck for the show.”
