Education providers and organisations are set to join forces to showcase the courses and learning opportunities available to adults across Coventry and Warwickshire.

CU Coventry, part of the Coventry University Group, and Coventry Libraries and Information Service are hosting a Festival of Learning event for adults wanting to improve their employability or those interested in learning new skills.

The annual event, which is free to attend, will be held at the Central Library in Smithford Way, Coventry, on Thursday, June 14 from 11am until 3pm.

Organisations exhibiting on the day will include CU Coventry, Coventry University, Coventry Libraries and Information Service, Coventry College, North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, Fab Lab Coventry, National Careers Service, Workers’ Educational Association (WEA), Routes to Ambition and the University of Warwick’s Centre for Lifelong Learning.

The interactive stands will provide information, advice and guidance on the wide range of opportunities available to adults across the area.

There will be details on short taster courses that people can take part in before committing as well as access courses ideal for those who do not have any existing qualifications and it will also be an opportunity to meet other likeminded mature students.

The Festival of Learning event will provide those looking to learn new skills, improve their employability or to change their career with the chance to find out more about the variety of opportunities available to them.

We have even more organisations signed up to exhibit than last year, and they will all be providing information on the different types of learning available from finding out about apprenticeships, learning a new language to exploring volunteering options and more.

The event is aimed at everyone and anyone including non-traditional students such as those with families, those in employment or out of employment as well as mature students.

We want to demonstrate that education is accessible to all and there are a range of options to suit everyone’s lifestyles.

Last year’s Festival of Learning attracted a lot of interest, and we look forward to welcoming people to our 2018 event and hope it will prove just as successful.
