Coventry University continued its dramatic improvement in the national rankings this morning with a leap of 17 places to 46th overall in the 2013 Guardian University league table.

According to the latest rankings, which are published today in the Guardian newspaper, Coventry is now a leading post-1992 university in the UK and is in the country’s top 10 for positive student feedback.

The significant rise in the table builds on last year’s improvements, which saw the University jump 23 places in the Guardian’s rankings, move up 30 places in the Sunday Times University Guide and record its best ever student satisfaction scores in the National Student Survey (NSS).

In today’s Guardian table, Coventry scores particularly well on the NSS feedback measure – which indicates the percentage of final year students satisfied with feedback and assessment by lecturers – and is also ranked in the top 10 in the Guardian’s added value measure, which compares students’ individual degree results with their entry qualifications to highlight the effectiveness of teaching in helping students to exceed their expectations.

Commenting on the results, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Madeleine Atkins, said:

We are delighted to see that today’s Guardian league table continues to reflect Coventry University’s ongoing improvements in performance and reputation.

The rise in the rankings is a testament to how hard our staff has been working in recent years not only to meet students’ needs, but to exceed their expectations and deliver a high quality overall experience.

Our focus remains on doing all we can to prepare students for graduate-level employment, notably through excellent teaching, placements and work experience, and international opportunities.
