Gift donations from university staff have been delivered to Coventry City Council as part of the 2019 Christmas Appeal for Children’s Services.

The council’s Participation Team accepted the donations on Wednesday 20 November, which included toys, books, toiletry and stationery sets, clothing and jewellery for children of all ages.

The gifts will be handed out by Santa at the annual Christmas party for looked after children and families in December. Around 300 fostered and cared for children are invited to the event each year, which provides a day of festive entertainment and activities.

This marks the 16th year that staff have been invited to donate, with a larger quantity of donations being received annually.

We have, once again, surpassed the volume of gifts donated last year. The range and quality of the gifts are testament to the kindness and generosity of all who donated. I know that this generosity will be reciprocated by the joy and happiness these gifts will give to the children and young people.
