The exhibition demonstrates how Coventry University students are developing industry-ready portfolios
Tuesday 28 April 2026
Coventry residents will have the opportunity to access three internationally-acclaimed immersive experiences, normally seen at major festivals, as part of Coventry University’s Creative Tech Fest.
Over the next two weeks visitors will be able to enjoy Spheres: Songs of Spacetime, which premiered at the 75th Venice Film Festival winning the best VR (immersive story) award and was shown at Cannes Film Festival, and Common Ground which has been at the Tribeca, Camden and BFI London film festivals, as well as the previous winner of the Venice Immersive Achievement Award at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, entitled Impulse.
They are all free-to-attend experiences and take place alongside a wealth of student work from final year and Masters students in Animation, Digital Media, Games Art, Games Design and Development, Virtual and Augmented Reality and Games Studio Development.
Curated by digital and immersive producer Tony Guillan as part of the DeliaPhonic Immersive X programme, these works bring high-end XR storytelling, which is a mix of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) directly to Coventry audiences in an engaging and accessible way.
From experimental prototypes to polished creative projects, the exhibition demonstrates how Coventry University students are developing industry-ready portfolios aligned with employer needs.
This is an opportunity to experiment with creative technologies and approaches across a range of sectors such as animation, games, digital media and immersive in a fun and inclusive way. Our staff and students are excited to share their skills and experience with members of the public through this community event.

Visitors to the Delia Derbyshire building, home to the university’s College of the Arts and Society, between 27 April and 8 May will also have the chance to meet emerging talent at the festival’s Artists’ Alley, where student creators will exhibit and sell their work, as well as attend industry talks and screenings featuring professionals from across the creative sector.
A key focus of the festival is public engagement and skills development. On 6 and 8 May, Coventry University will host a series of free, hands-on workshops designed to give participants direct experience with creative technologies. Sessions will cover areas such as digital drawing, 3D scanning, motion capture, board game creation, projection mapping and more, with workshops co-delivered by staff and students.
Creative Tech Fest is part of DOT DOT DOT... Graduate Festival 2026, the School of Arts & Creative Industries’ annual celebration of emerging talent which brings together industry professionals, students, families, schools, and the wider community to experience the work, ambition, and imagination of Coventry University’s graduating cohort.
