Freedom to develop my creativity
Annaleigh Dixon is in the first year of her Advertising and Marketing degree at Coventry Business School.
Annaleigh is hoping to work in creative advertising when she graduates. She chose Coventry as she felt that the course was the only one to offer the right academic and creative mix.
Here she tells us about her ambition and experience of the course so far.
University of the Year for Student Experience - The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019
At the moment I really want to get into a graduate job, in creative advertising specifically. I’m quite a creative person, so I really want to explore that, and travel the world a bit really.
Coventry was the only place that did the course properly, as advertising and marketing is a bit of academic and a bit of creative. I’m both of those; I don’t like being just one thing. I just love the course!
Right now, we’re learning the basics, the very fundamentals, but we get to apply our own spin to it. The lecturers will explain a theory to us, and then ask us to apply it to a real-world situation, which I love so much.
I’m really close with my tutors. They have really taken their time to get to know me, so I personally think the support is amazing. I can just email them and they’ll know specifically how to talk to me and how I work. It’s really helpful.
