An experience of a lifetime in Taiwan
While studying in the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing, Thomas Hawkins always ensured he made the most of all the international opportunities available to him.
One such opportunity was Coventry University's Add+vantage modules, which offer a range of work experience and career development activities to broaden students’ knowledge, skills and qualifications.
Here Thomas tells us about his international experience in Taiwan.

As part of my Add+vantage module in my second year I went on a global experience trip to Taiwan which was fantastic. I spent just over two and a half months in Taiwan in the end.
Ten days were spent on the actual field trip, with the rest gaining work experience with a local fire department and at a fire training college (in the middle of nowhere!) where I got to pretend to be a firefighter for six weeks! It was fantastic and beyond my wildest imagination.
