We are deeply saddened to hear that His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh has passed away at the age of 99.

Prince Philip dedicated his life to the country, from a notable career in the Royal Navy during World War II, to his decades of service as the Queen’s Consort.

He was instrumental in launching The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in 1956, which, decades later, has inspired millions of young people to transform their lives and reach their potential.

The city of Coventry was honoured to be visited by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in March 2000, when they attended the Home Front commemoration service held in the cathedral ruins.

Where flags are flown on our campus buildings, they have been lowered as a mark of respect.

Our thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family at this sad time.
