Qualifications

  • Senior Fellow HEA, 2016
  • Law LLB (Hons), 1982
  • Further and Higher Education Teaching Certificate (Part 1), 1984

Research interests

My current research interest is in the management and training needs of solicitors. The Solicitors Regulation Authorities Legal Education and Training Report in 2013 identified a number of shortfalls in existing training and I have lead negotiations with the Warwickshire Law Society to offer a suite of workshops to their membership. The workshops addressed these issues and helped to assist local solicitors requiring an on-going practicing certificate to satisfying Principle 5 of the SRA Handbook, to provide a proper standard of service to clients by adhering to the SRA Competency Statement by evidencing continuing competence at the threshold standard.
