Making the most of your Open Day

Visiting us for an Open Day? To learn about what you can see and do, check out our Open Day visitor guide and campus map

To help you get the most out of your day, we’ve put together some top tips to help you prepare ahead of the event.

1

Travel

Once you are near Coventry city centre, AA signs will guide you to the university area. You can park for free if you use the multi-storey car park on Gosford Street (CV1 5DL).

Travelling by train? Look out for our ambassadors at the railway station – they will show you to our free shuttle bus to the university.

2

On arrival

All visitors must check in with us - our students will be around campus to guide you to event check in, which takes place in Square One (part of TheHub). To ease the flow of arrivals, please try to keep to your arrival time slot - either 9am to 10am or 11am to 12noon.

3

What's going on?

We have campus tours, an Information Fair, accommodation tours and some central presentations – you can find all of these in or around TheHub building.

4

Course information

We have a full range of course sessions taking place in our faculty buildings. These start at 10.30am and 1.30pm and last for 90 or 120 minutes.

Please check the Visitor Guide, for a full course listing with timings and locations, and note that selected courses run additionally at 12 noon in the faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

5

Food and drink

When you’re ready for a drink or some lunch, we have numerous catering outlets on campus. The event wristband we give to all visitors at check in means lunch is on us between 11:30am and 2:30pm at most of the outlets. If you feel like extending your visit, we are based very close to the city centre with its shops, restaurants and tourist attractions all nearby.

6

Handy tip

One final handy tip about planning your day: attending a morning course session will leave plenty of time afterwards to do any tours, go to a central talk or visit the Information Fair in TheHub, as well as getting some lunch. If your arrival time is slightly later, you can visit some of the central activities both before and after taking in an afternoon course session.
