Accessibility and Visitor Support for Open Days

Contact us

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming experience for all visitors attending our events. We recognise that everyone has different needs and we want to ensure that as many people as possible can access and enjoy their visit.

If you have a disability, long-term health condition, neurodiverse condition, temporary injury, caring responsibilities, or any other accessibility requirement, we encourage you to let us know in advance so that we can discuss how best to support you.

Before you visit

When registering for an event, you will have the opportunity to tell us about any accessibility or additional support requirements. Providing this information in advance helps us make appropriate arrangements and ensure you have the best possible experience.

If your requirements change after booking, or if you would prefer to discuss them directly with a member of the team, please get in touch.

Accessibility information

AccessAble guides

Detailed accessibility information for our campuses is available through AccessAble. These guides provide information on step-free access, accessible toilets, parking, entrances, lifts, hearing assistance systems, and other accessibility features to help you plan your visit with confidence. Below are links to the guides for key campus buildings you may be visiting.

Accessible parking

Accessible Blue Badge parking is available free of charge and is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The multi-storey car park is equipped with lifts and ramp access to support visitors with mobility requirements. For detailed accessibility information, including step-free routes, lift access and parking facilities, please refer to the AccessAble guide for the Gosford Street Multi-Storey Car Park.

  • Coventry University Multi-Storey Car Park, Gosford Street, Coventry CV1 5DL

As you approach Coventry city centre, follow the yellow AA event signs for Car Park 1. On arrival, please speak to the member of staff at the barrier, who will direct you to the appropriate accessible parking area.

If your vehicle is over 2 metres in height, please contact us before your visit so that we can arrange directions to an alternative ground-level accessible parking space.

This helps us ensure suitable parking is available and that your arrival on campus is as smooth as possible.

Accessible tours - campus and accommodation

Campus tours start from just inside the entrance to The Hub (Jordan Well side) and operate on a turn-up-and-go basis. Tours are led by our Student Ambassadors. Tours visit The Hub, Lanchester Library, including Sigma (Maths and Statistics Support), and the Sports and Recreation Centre. These tours can provide additional time, support, and guidance to help you familiarise yourself with the campus environment and facilities.

Should you require an accessible tour, please inform the tour lead prior to the tour starting. Our campus and buildings include accessible routes, and the tour team will be happy to provide additional support where possible.

Accessible railway station shuttle

Where possible, an accessible shuttle minibus will be provided to operate between Coventry railway station and campus locations during events. Availability may vary depending on the event and campus.

If you require accessible, transport support to and from Coventry railway station, please contact us in advance of the event so that we can discuss your requirements and advise on the arrangements available.

Assistance dogs

Registered assistance dogs and therapy and emotional support animals are welcome at our events and on campus.

To ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing of all visitors, other types of animals should not be brought onto Coventry University Group owned or managed premises, property or vehicles unless an exemption applies.

Baby changing facilities

We recognise that some visitors may be attending with babies and young children. Baby changing and feeding facilities are available across campus, including on the ground floor of The Hub, Lanchester Library, the Beatrice Shilling Building and the Sir Frank Whittle Building. Visitors are welcome to breastfeed or bottle-feed in campus spaces.

If you need assistance locating these facilities during your visit, please speak to a member of staff or visit the Event Help Desk in The Hub, or see the AccessAble building guides linked above.

Visual or hearing impairment

We want to ensure you can fully participate in your course exploration session. If you have a visual or hearing impairment and would like reserved seating near the front of the room, please contact us if you have not already notified us during registration.

Quiet spaces and prayer rooms

We provide designated quiet spaces and rooms for visitors who would like time away from the busy event environment. Please visit the Event Help Desk or Welcome Desk, both located in The Hub. Staff will happily direct you to a designated quiet space.
