From Farm to Family: Digital Inclusion for Equitable Access to Local Food (F2FDigital)

This project addresses two intertwined challenges: many small producers lack the digital skills, tools, or confidence to sell online, and many low-income households face digital barriers to accessing affordable, nutritious, locally sourced food.

Subtle Agroecologies “is not a farming system in itself, but superimposes a non-material dimension upon existing, materially-based agroecological farming systems. This pilot research project investigates women’s unarmed community protection strategies in conflict-affected contexts, with a focus on Ethiopia. Civilian protection (PoC) has traditionally relied on militarised interventions; however, the emerging concept of unarmed civilian protection (UCP) shifts focus to nonviolent, community-led strategies, emphasising local agency.

WINN-ORGANIC is a Horizon Europe Innovation Action comprising 19 partners from 9 countries. The project addresses systemic imbalances in the organic food value chain and is working to improve access to and procurement of organic food.

The British Council Coventry University Pharmacoeconomics Programme (BCCUPP)

The aim of this development programme is to build upon the expertise, knowledge and skills of the pharmacy workforce in Egypt. In recent years, the economic evaluation of pharmaceutical technologies has become an important issue for many health care systems, worldwide. This collaboration will help transfer knowledge and skills from the team at Coventry University to academics working in Egypt and pharmacists in select Egyptian hospitals.


SHIFFT: Supporting Holistic “Innovation” and the diFFusion of Agroecological innovaTion

This project will look at how processes of ‘innovation’ in agroecology and food sovereignty – what does it look like, is it different from other innovation approaches, and how do agroecological innovations spread around? Waste Food-Energy-Water Urban Living Labs - mapping and reducing waste in the food-energy-water nexus

We aim to map and substantially reduce waste in the urban food-energy-water (FEW) nexus in city-regions across three continents: Europe, Africa and South America. We will establish four Urban Living Labs (ULL) of key stakeholders who will undertake participatory research to: a) map resource flows; b) identify critical dysfunctional linear pathways; c) agree the response most appropriate to the local context (e.g. policy intervention, technology diffusion); d) model the market and non-market economic value of each intervention; and e) engage with decision makers to close each loop.


The Roles of IP and Diversity in the Creative Industries

The objective is to inform policy-making in both South Africa and the UK in relation to IP and diversity strategies for the micro creative industries and international trade. It is also to create strong and lasting conversations among academic researchers, creative industry participants, policy-makers and practitioners across South Africa and the UK; and to foster new academic links between South Africa and the UK through which new research proposals can emerge. This project, and subsequent ones arising out of network activities will also help to strengthen understanding of, and adoption of good practice around IP and diversity by arts and cultural practitioners, thus ensuring greater sustainability for this sector.

BiLex: A Psycholinguistic Database for Bilingual Children

BiLex is the first database compiled from textbooks used in bilingual education and provides word translations, pronunciations, spelling and psycholinguistic values. The database will provide the basis for the development of teaching and research material.
