To celebrate International Women's Day team uxplore is bringing you "Women in Tech" - celebrating women in the industry!

Free for all to attend, but please register your attendance.

From our keynote speakers you can expect to hear inspirational career journeys, advancements women are making in the industry, discussions as to why the industry is still so heavily male-dominated and what companies should be doing to even the ratio.

Talks will run from 10AM to 4PM, with networking breaks in between, where food and refreshments will be provided.

You can pop in throughout the day to join talks delivered by speakers you are interested in. If you would like to join us the whole day you are welcome to do so too.

Speakers

Sarah Windrum – Board Director, Coventry and Warwickshire LEP

Sarah is a Business Founder and Investor in the West Midlands technology sector. She founded and sold a successful ICT project management business and is now investing in exciting new projects including Your Wellspace (workplace well-being digital start-up) & Secure Workflows (blockchain multi-agency platform). Her entrepreneurial success was recognised in 2021 when she was awarded the Nachural Businesswoman of the Year. Sarah became CWLEP Chair in April 2021 leading the public private partnership to implement the Strategic Reset Framework and transition to delivering on the Net Zero and Levelling-Up ambitions of Central Government. She is also a member of the Midlands Engine Digital Board and the West Midlands Combined Authority Innovation Board supporting digital transformation and securing investment to improve economic and social outcomes across the region. Passionate about future digital talent, Sarah is on the Industry Advisory Board at Warwickshire College.

Debra Ainge – CEO, Iethico

Debra combines broad international experience in the healthcare industry in R&D, Technology, and the pharmaceutical service sector across UK and internationally, with a record of delivering growth both organically & through M&A. She has led organisations from start-up to +5000 staff and has an extensive industry network built through the development of strong relationships across pharma, biotech & technology. Debra is a certified member of the Institute of Directors, holds several non-executive roles and has a PhD from Newcastle University.

Elizabeth Rumsey – Senior Global Product Manager - Mobile Private Network

Elizabeth Rumsey is the Global Senior Product Manager responsible for multi-access edge computing, related applications analytics at Vodafone Business. Elizabeth’s team connects market-leading capabilities in communications and technology to help our customers succeed in a digital economy and Vodafone’s partnerships with leading technology providers. Elizabeth joined Vodafone as a Principal Deal Architect, consequently taking roles including as the Commercial Intelligence Team Lead, before moving into Cloud and Security, previously as the Digital Services Offer Manager. During her time at Vodafone, Elizabeth has simultaneously connected and empowered people, including supporting the CEO of Total Mama, supporting a partnership between Vodafone Group Commercial and Oxford University Innovation to achieve his mission to provide women a trusted digital source of personalised information for fertility and pregnancy, building on her experience as Chair of Vodafone Group’s Women’s Network.

Rachel Cheetham – Senior Innovation & Growth Specialist, Innovate UK Edge in the Midlands

Rachel Cheetham is a Senior Innovation and Growth Specialist for Innovate UK Edge in the Midlands. She is part of a team of specialists that work long-term with growing businesses to exploit innovation, enter international markets and scale.

Lesley Holt – Director of Acceleration & Adoption, WM5G

As Director for Acceleration and Adoption at WM5G, Lesley calls upon a wealth of experience in stakeholder management, business development & support and business transformation. With a wide range of experience in both the public and private sectors – Lesley supports these organisations across the region and wider - leading the delivery of digital technology acceleration and adoption programmes. The purpose of these programmes is to drive awareness, adoption and advancement of technology and connectivity. Designing and delivering engagements that inspire and equip organisations with the skills and knowledge to advance or apply a range of technology solutions.

Dr Awinder Kaur – Associate Head of School - Enterprise and Innovation, Coventry University

Awinder is Associate Head of School - Enterprise and Innovation (E&I), overseeing national and international commercial and innovation activities within the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing, Coventry University. Involved in developing and leading the enterprise and commercial activity, together with the external engagement and partnerships for the school. Awinder works closely with various industry partners including Bosch, JLR, Manpower/Experis Group, KPIT, Bentley, Ricardo and FEV. Awinder is also Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), with extensive experience in developing and managing courses, and strong understanding of the quality processes.
