Event details
Please join us for a one-day event to learn about the research of the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Ryton Organic Gardens.
The Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience develops and integrates new knowledge in social, agroecological, hydrological and environmental processes, as well as the pivotal role that communities play in developing resilience.
The event is all about mutual learning as we all have something to teach each other. It will bring together researchers, students, allotment holders, farmers, gardeners and members of the public in the gardens, tipis and the Chapel of Many.
Activities will include:
- Presentations on the centre’s world-leading research into food and water (local, national and international)
- Tours of the gardens and the community-supported agriculture farm, 5 Acres Community horticulture stalls
- Discussion groups, plant art activities and poetry readings
- Demonstrations, including how to prepare succulent hanging baskets
There will also be the opportunity to showcase vegetables, herbs and flowers you have grown.
A selection of food stalls will be available but please feel free to bring a picnic.
