Event details

Come and learn more about the ‘Strictly’ Inclusive project, exploring inclusivity and representation on the popular BBC show.

This activity will share the findings of the research project Strictly Inclusive: It engaged with disabled and LGBT+ communities in Birmingham and Coventry in the context of the BBC centenary, focusing on the TV show “Strictly Come Dancing” (funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, 2022).

In the first part of the event, learn more about the project and watch some short documentary films, and explore three artistic responses to the project that were created in workshops earlier this year. In the second part, there will be the opportunity to become creative and design your own Stop Motion gifs. This is a media process where images are captured one frame at a time, with adjusted objects so that they appear to be moving when played back. You will be supported in creating the short film and will be invited to share it in a final round table conversation.
