Coventry University has helped shine an international spotlight on digital and immersive businesses from the West Midlands, with several companies from its CreaTech Europe Connect Programme exhibiting at one of the world’s leading immersive technology events.

CreaTech Europe Connect supported small and medium-sized creative enterprises to turn recent research and development investment into global opportunities, offering tailored internationalisation support and funded opportunities to showcase work overseas and create direct links with European innovation networks.

Led by Coventry University, the West Midlands delegation joined the UK Pavilion at Laval Virtual 2026 in France to present their technologies, build international partnerships and explore new markets. Their work included advances in virtual reality, augmented reality and immersive content.

A major theme at Laval Virtual 2026 was the shift from experimentation to real‑world application of immersive technologies.

We are incredibly proud to be supporting this group of creative technology businesses from across the West Midlands. They truly represent the very best of the innovation, talent and entrepreneurial energy that defines our region. Through CreaTech Europe Connect, we are committed to helping our creative and immersive sector build international partnerships and access new global markets.

Events such as Laval Virtual provide a globally recognised platform for showcasing cutting-edge immersive technologies and connecting innovators from around the world, and we are delighted that these businesses have the opportunity to demonstrate how our region’s creativity and expertise are driving innovation across sectors including culture, health, gaming and digital media.
