About
Dr Alice Ogunlolu is an Assistant Professor and Course Director for the MSc Construction Project and Cost Management programme at Coventry University. She is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and an internationally recognised educator with over a decade of experience spanning higher education, professional practice and major infrastructure projects.
Her expertise cuts across construction project management, commercial management, quantity surveying, procurement, digital transformation and sustainable construction. As both an academic and industry practitioner, she is passionate about equipping future construction professionals with the knowledge, technical competence and critical thinking skills required to address the evolving challenges of the global built environment.
Dr Ogunlolu teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, she has extensive experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research and is committed to creating engaging, inclusive and research-informed learning environments that connect theory with industry practice.
She actively contributes to curriculum innovation, academic quality enhancement and professional engagement while maintaining strong links with industry and professional institutions.
Career overview
Prior to joining Coventry University, Dr Ogunlolu held academic positions at Baze University, where she served as Lecturer I and Module Leader across several undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
She also served as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), delivering commercial management services on major construction projects. Her responsibilities included cost planning, procurement management, contract administration, valuations, final accounts, supply chain management and commercial risk management. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Project Quantity Surveyor with Quantec Consultants, providing consultancy services across public and private sector developments.
Research
Dr Ogunlolu's research focuses on the digital transformation of the built environment and the development of sustainable, resilient and efficient construction practices. Her research interests include:

She has published in peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings and regularly presents her work at national and international conferences. She also serves as a reviewer for international academic journals and is actively involved in collaborative research that explores emerging technologies and sustainable practices within the construction industry.

External activities
Dr Ogunlolu is committed to supporting the wider profession through mentoring, professional service and community engagement.
She serves as an Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Counsellor for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), mentoring candidates towards Chartered status. She is also a Resource Person for the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, delivering professional development training in measurement, Building Information Modelling (BIM), ISO 19650 and digital construction practices.
Beyond academia, she volunteers as a Community Education Volunteer with the British Red Cross, helping to deliver community resilience and emergency preparedness programmes. She also contributes to scholarly publishing as a peer reviewer for several international journals.
