Han Zhang

Lecturer in Business Analytics

Biography

Han Zhang is a Lecturer in Business Analytics at the School of Strategy and Leadership (SSL) at Coventry University. She is the Module Leader for Data Mining Methodologies and Applications (PG) and specialises in using IBM SPSS software to analyse data, particularly in the field of blockchain. In addition to her teaching role, Han also serves as the Associate Course Director for the BA Business Administration Course, a Progress Coach for MSc International Business Management Year 3 students, and as the Academic Conduct Officer.

Career overview

Han has six years of industry experience, having worked as a Sales Manager in China and as a professional international trading and Exporting Manager in the Middle East region, specializing in the stainless-steel industry. She held positions such as Sales Assistant, Sales Manager, and Export Manager during her time in the industry.

Currently, Han is pursuing her PhD in Supply Chain Management. Her research focuses on the application of advanced technologies in the manufacturing context, including supply chain management, operations management, blockchain, Industry 4.0, and circular economy. Her research has been published in academic journals such as European Conference Knowledge Management in 2021, Industrial Engineering and Operations Management 2022, British Academy of Management 2022.

In addition to her research, Han has also taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering topics such as Business Analytics, Business Analysis for Decision Making, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management and Data Mining Methodologies and Applications. She is also an educator at High Value Manufacturing Catapult in Emerging Skills Project.

Research

Her research examines blockchain adoption in supply chain and mainly focuses on the application in manufacturing context. Specifically, she is enthusiastic in advanced technologies implementation in the steel manufacturing. Her contribution is to promote automation development in manufacturing toward UN SDGs and facilitate better decision-making, providing insights into the future and solve industrial, societal problems etc. Her research scope is in the following areas:
