Career overview

Bentil is currently Assistant Professor in International Business and Course Director in MSc International Business Management at Coventry University. He loves empowering students and industry leaders with his knowledge and expertise in international business, marketing and business management. He has extensive experience in industry and academia. He has taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across a number of higher education institutions in the UK and abroad.

His areas of interest and expertise are international SME marketing, international business management and marketing, entrepreneurship, business development and international business strategy. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business Administration specialising in Management and Marketing and PGCert in Higher Education Practice. His PhD research was in the exploration of acculturation patterns of migrant SME owners and managers from African and Caribbean origins in the UK. In addition to this, he is currently involved in research on international entrepreneurship with a focus on the current Sub-Saharan African diaspora movement.

Professionally, he has Fellowship and Chartered Manager status from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) UK and Member of the International Business Development Institute (IBDI). He is also a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, Reviewer at the British Academy of Management (BAM) and External Examiner. Some of his previous academic and industry roles pursued are visiting lecturer and speaker, judge and panel member of the British Excellence in Sales Management (BESMA) and executive board member for Prudential Group UK.

He has also consulted for a range of governmental research projects and small and medium-sized businesses within the UK and overseas in areas of venture capital acquisition, management and international business strategy development.

In his free time, he enjoys cooking, reading and holidaying in the Mediterranean.
