Event details

Classically Queer, commissioned and produced by Coventry City Of Culture Trust in partnership with Coventry Pride and supported by Coventry Cathedral.

Located in the Cathedral Ruins, celebrate the City of Culture month of Harmony by joining Coventry Pride for a day filled with performance. All performances showcase the talent of LGBTQI+ musicians in the region.

Inspired by the story of gay composer, Benjamin Britten, who wrote the War Requiem op.66 for the consecration of the new Cathedral in 1962, this new Queer music ensemble will play together in Coventry for the first time ever.

This is the first in a series of exciting and uplifting events coproduced by Coventry Pride. We invite families and groups of up to 6 to picnic and enjoy live music accompanied by personal stories and lived experiences of Coventry's LGBTQI+ music community. A treat not to be missed!
