Scarborough Athletic FC is introducing an Under 19 team for the 2018/19 season, with support from CU Scarborough.

CU Scarborough, part of the Coventry University Group, is set to sponsor the first-team’s home kit for the new SAFC U19 squad, strengthening its commitment to the success of the team.

The new shirts will be yellow, in keeping with the institution’s colours and the first team’s away kit, which it also sponsors.

As an organisation we are committed to creating opportunities for the young people in our region.

The addition of an under 19 team to the club allows for the development of the juniors, keeping talent in the town as well as providing back-up for the first team.

We have a close working relationship with our neighbours and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to show our continued commitment to Scarborough Athletic FC. Facilitating this expansion of the squad is important for the town and we feel privileged to be part of it.

Former Scarborough Athletic player and current Pickering Town striker, Ryan Blott, will be the joint Scarborough Athletic U19 team manager, along with Denny Ingram.

It’s great to work with CU Scarborough, we’re really grateful for their continued support. Strong partners and sponsors are vital if we are to continue the success of the club in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Both Denny and I are involved with the Scarborough Football Scholarship which is helping to nurture the next generation of footballers, so we are very excited to be looking after the U-19s to create a stepping stone between the scholarship and the football club.

The new kit was shown at the club’s kit launch at Scarborough Market Hall and is now available to purchase from The Boro Hub, in Market Way.
