Getting organised
Whether you're moving into accommodation or commuting from home there are a few important steps to take before you begin your journey with us. Getting organised early will help you feel confident and ready to start your studies.
Enrolment: what to expect
You will receive an email with a personalised link to begin your online enrolment. This is your first step in becoming a registered student.
- Check your inbox – and don’t forget to look in your junk folder too.
- Lost the email? You can still access everything you need via our enrolment page. It includes step-by-step guidance and direct links to the enrolment portals.
Book accommodation
If you’re moving away from home, secure your university accommodation or private rental well in advance. This ensures you have a comfortable place to stay when you arrive.
Check out what is available in your accommodation and gather items to bring. You may want to consider packing the following:
- Bedroom essentials: bedding, clothes hangers, laundry bag, personal decorations
- Bathroom essentials: Towels, toiletries, toilet roll, first aid kit
- Kitchen essentials: plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, sauce pan, frying pan, baking tray
- Cleaning supplies: Multi-surface cleaner; bin bags, dustpan and brush, washing powder or pods, washing-up liquid, cloths.
Plan your commute
Check train, or bus routes and timetables - consider buying a student travel pass or railcard to save money. If driving, research parking options and permits near campus.
Create a routine – factor in travel time when planning your daily schedule. Aim to arrive early to avoid delays and settle in before classes. You’ll be able to access your timetable after you’ve enrolled so use this to schedule your week.
Activate and check your university email
Activate and regularly check your student email account. This is where we’ll send important updates about your course, enrolment, induction, and student life. You may also find links to apps and tools you’ll use during your studies.

Get ready to learn online
Once you’ve enrolled, log into Aula, our online learning platform, to see how your course content will be delivered.
Aula will be your main space for academic materials, announcements, and class discussions.
