Empowerment of students with disabilities and the implications for assessment design
This workshop will outline some key findings and achievements from an HEA supported project on empowerment of students with disabilities involving a CU-wide team. This workshop will explore the key findings and achievements from the project. It will explore what we as teaching practitioners should be doing and what the legal obligations are. In particular, with the aid of case study examples, this workshop will provide guidance on the key principles/tenets of the law with regard to disability and assessment and reasonable adjustment.
What will I get out of this course?
Workshop participants will come away armed with examples and sources of further information and guidance that will help them to design assessment more effectively whether for those with disability or without.
