Plagiarism in 2014

Course Overview

Dealing with issues around plagiarism in 2014 is different from managing issues around plagiarism in 2004.  The session will explore and share good practice around how the issues around plagiarism are changing and evolving.  Although the focus will be on the experiences around international students, the session will address all those 'haunted by the spectre of plagiarism'. (Neville, 2010)

  • Plagiarism and the international student experience
  • Plagiarism in non-writing disciplines. E.g.  engineering, computing and architecture
  • Plagiarism and students from non-traditional backgrounds

Aspects such as using sources and how specific groups of students struggle with source use will be explored.
