Course orientation
Your course orientation (sometimes known as induction) is designed to help you feel prepared, supported, and confident as you start your studies. It includes a mix of activities and events to help you get to know your course, meet your lecturers, and understand what’s expected of you.
What to expect
During your orientation, you’ll take part in a variety of sessions and activities, including:
Welcome sessions
These sessions will introduce you to the university, your course, and wider support network. You’ll learn about our values, how we teach, and the services available to help you.
Course introduction
You’ll find out more about your course structure, how you’ll be assessed, and important dates to keep in mind. This is a good time to ask any questions you may have.
Top tip: Reading your student handbook is one of the easiest ways to stay ahead. It’s packed with everything you need to know to successfully complete your studies including information about assessments, exams, attendance and awards. Think of it as your personal guide to making the most of your time here. A quick read now can save you a lot of confusion later!
Meet and greet
You’ll get the chance to meet your lecturers, support staff, and fellow students. It’s a great way to start making connections and feel part of our community.
